BOOKS BY GEORGE A. MOORE:

Confessions of a Young Man
1888
A fictionalized autobiographical account of the author's days in Paris.
Esther Waters
1894
A naturalistic Zola-esque tale about a servant girl who becomes pregnant and then marries an irresponsible gambler.
The Untilled Field
1903
Moore wrote these landmark short stories in the 1890s with an eye to honoring the culture and language of Ireland. However, they were not embraced by the Gaelic League. These stories were, on the other hand, in part responsible for the reinvigoration of Irish literature that followed their publication.
